Our People and Mission
Learn more about who we are…
We are sinners saved by grace. And because Christ has won for us the forgiveness of our sins, we are now able through the comfort received from the Holy Spirit to love one another and to serve and love our neighbors. We are still imperfect, sinful people, and at times act selfishly rather than in love, but when we sin (a thing that happens all too frequently, in fact—every day and even many times a day), we confess our sins (we don’t pretend to have no sin), and then we receive God’s absolution and the comfort of the Gospel is renewed within us once again by the Holy Spirit.
Morever, because God has baptized us into the death of Christ (Romans 6), and thus has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1), we truly now want to serve one another and be a blessing to others in our community.
It is this same Gospel of Jesus Christ that reminds us who we are in Christ and motivates us in everything that we do. Our most recent mission statement puts it this way. We are…
- Involved for Christ
- Empowered by Christ
- Loving through Christ
Once you get to know us (as we hope to get to know you too), we think that you’ll find that we are simple people just like you. We are ordinary folks with families and careers, hopes and cares, joys and struggles.
But whatever state in which we find ourselves in life, the most important thing about us is that we have a Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, who regularly and wondrously lavishes upon us the rich gifts of the Gospel to keep us with Him, abiding in His Word and in the Father’s love by the powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit working through these Gospel gifts. We would love for you to share in these blessings with us!
